It would work kind of like my thermostat- when I come home early I can turn up the heat manually but then the schedule still is in operation and will set the temp back at night. Now for the feature request: In the Family feature, I would like to have the ability to override the schedule and enable/disable internet for a kid without erasing the existing schedules for those devices. ![]() I can also setup schedules for each device or group of devices. The parental controls “family” feature allows me to group a kid’s devices and enable/disable network access with one action. it also gives visibility to the new AiMesh features and shows which devices are connected to the mesh nodes and which are connected to the main router. Hi, would you please provide your router's model name and firmware version? I will check it soon.Īwesome app parental controls request.įirst off - This app works great! I am able to monitor my network from anywhere: home, work, the gym, etc. If they could just fix the connected devices but and put a way to see the old style combined CPU/RAM display back on the main screen it would raise my star rating to near four stars. #ASUS MAC ADDRESS AUTHENTICATION PLUS#In the old design I could reboot and then quickly and easily monitor my devices, CPU, and RAM utilization? The new app makes this difficult and it seems like there is a bug in the connected devices count because I have to switch between screens to get an updated count.Ĭonsidering these issues that most affected my app use plus several others that I haven't mentioned my opinion is this new UI is far worse than the old one. Moving between the CPU/RAM/Home screens is now very cumbersome. #ASUS MAC ADDRESS AUTHENTICATION SERIES#In addition I cannot see the RAM/CPU utilization in one nice display on the main screen, you are now forced to go through a series of menus to get to a CPU or RAM use displays but no combined display like the app offered previously. It took me at least 15 minutes to find the features I used the most in the old app like reboot which is now well hidden. The changes make it difficult to locate familiar features since many of them are just icons with no text. #ASUS MAC ADDRESS AUTHENTICATION UPDATE#Since the design update for this app, which I think was intended to make aiMesh more prevalent, I have reduced my rating from for stars to one star. ![]() New features are consistently being added. Lyra/Lyra mini/Lyra Trio/Lyra Voice (needs to be at least 3.0.0.4.384 version) Port forwarding (RT models)/ OpenNAT (ROG Models)ĪSUS Router app supports the following routers. We are aiming to provide the best Wi-Fi and Internet-surfing experiences you have ever had with these comprehensive features.ġ. Because the MAC address of the device is used as the credentials, an attacker can easily gain network access by spoofing the MAC address of previously authenticated clients. Below are the steps necessary in order, to deploy MAC-Based Access Control using Microsoft NPS.The ASUS Router app unlocks the power to manage your network in just a few taps whenever you want, wherever you go. One is that it is not an association method that supports wireless encryption. Therefore clients will need to rely on upper layer protocols for encrypting traffic such as SSL or IPsec once a device has gained network access. MAC-Based Access Control has some security implications which must be considered. Below is a diagram showing a successful authentication. If the RADIUS server replies with an Access-Reject because the device does not match a policy, the AP will not grant network access. Upon receiving this message, the AP will grant network access to the device on the SSID. If a RADIUS policy exists on the server that specifies the device should be granted access and the credentials are correct, the RADIUS server will respond with an Access-Accept message. #ASUS MAC ADDRESS AUTHENTICATION PASSWORD#The username and password combination is always the MAC address of the connecting device, lower case without delimiting characters. With MAC-Based Access Control, devices must be authenticated by a RADIUS server before network access is granted on an SSID. The AP (RADIUS client) sends a RADIUS Access-Request to the RADIUS server containing the username and password of the connecting wireless device. It is critical to control which devices can access the wireless LAN. MAC-Based Access Control can be used to provide port based network access control on MR series access points. MAC-Based Access Control is one method for preventing unauthorized access to the Wireless LAN. This article discusses how MAC-Based Access Control works and provides step-by-step configuration instructions for Microsoft NPS and Dashboard. ![]()
